Methodology:
The design strategically utilizes stereotype features often associated with Asian women, such as long straight black hair and narrow eyes. Intertwining the American flag with the woman's hair, visually reinforcing the concept of unity and oneness. The primary color, red, is chosen for its dual significance in various cultures. In Chinese culture, red is synonymous with happiness, success, and good luck, carrying positive connotations. The central element of the sticker is the Hanzi character for "truth" which also serves as the woman’s eye. This deliberate choice symbolizes the truth that Asian Americans are as inherently American as their fellow citizens, regardless of physical appearances.
The typography is meticulously designed to echo the graceful brushstrokes of calligraphy, a significant element in Chinese culture. Notably, the letter A in "American" is partially infused with red, echoing the character's form and underscoring the importance of the term. This deliberate use of color draws attention to the word "American," emphasizing the shared identity and belonging of Asian Americans in the broader cultural landscape.
